Nice Men in White Coats

Just got a call to interview for a temporary position which would be a foot in the door to my chosen field. How is this a problem, you may ask? It's for a full year, without benefits, so I would have to keep the crappy night job to maintain health insurance for my family.
I've been lobbying pretty hard for a permanent position, even used the tiny bit of political influence that I have access to (state job, you don't get in without it), and what do I get offered? TEMP WORK. I can't get a job on my merits because my daddy isn't the mayor, but I still can't get a job through the normal channels of good old fashioned political corruption...how many more ways can I fail here?!?
The interview is tomorrow, and I know what's going to happen. I'm going to interview, they're going to like me, offer me the position, and then I'll be left to decide between my career and my sanity. Working 70 hours a week for the next 10 months is a one-way ticket to the looney bin, but I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to say no.

What good can you be to the ones you love if you stretch yourself so thin? You need help, not more responsibility. I like cheese.

You strike me as the type who would have been in a marching band...did you play tuba? I'm getting a 'tuba' vibe from you.
