I hate being informed

I need to stop reading CNN.com. For the last 6 months, I've been noticing a rather depressing trend in reporting. Today's headlines and features:
---
Katrina's Smallest Survivors -photo gallery-
(*sniff sniff*...eyes get misty)
Nursing Home Bodies Being Removed
(*sniff*...*blows nose*)
Threesome Scene Earns Film NC-17 Rating
(sniff sniff...huh? wha? *mood improves slightly*)
Baby Stabbed on New York Street
(WTF??? WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH *sob* *snort*)
---
I've decided not to read CNN for a few days. One has to wonder if there is a point to crying over the misfortune of perfect strangers. It doesn't do them any good, and it certainly isn't doing any good for the bags under my eyes, either.

Research shows that reporting more on threesome trends will serve to lighten the news right the fuck up.
